Zukes Offers Joint Support Treats (With Eggshell Membrane)!

Share

Recently, we were invited to explore the extensive line of treats from Zuke’s during their #FuelTheLove campaign. I have high expectations for pet products, and that means I expect treats to perform more than one function. For example, we want low-calorie treats that support joint health that are made in the United States, with ingredients sourced from the US. That’s why we were excited to find Zukes Hip Action & Joint Support Pet Treats.

We also want our pets to have access to a variety of proteins because different dogs prefer different things. Zukes also works on that level. Cheiss’s favorite is wild rabbit. It’s a protein that is lean, chock full of great nutrients, and ideal for any breed. They also come in Roasted Chicken, Savory Salmon and Fresh Peanut Butter. You can pick up 6 oz pouches or 1-pound packs and each package is re-sealable (another big bonus).

Our animals are members of our family and that means we don’t “get rid of them” when they grow old.  We do, however, need to make a few adjustments as our large breed dogs approach “senior” status. At the moment, Cheiss is a card-holding member of the AARP (or he would be if he were human). He’s about 50 lbs, and he’s 13-years old. He’s grumpy, he has no tolerance for the “young’uns” and he just wants to chase his ball once a day and rest on his favorite heated bed the rest of the time. That’s why joint support is so important.

Alternative Proteins

Cheiss is still in good shape, but as he was hit by a car as a pup and is missing part of his femur, we do have to make a few adjustments for the aches and pains that come with his senior status. He’s never been a big “treat” fiend (unlike his younger siblings). Cheiss will only eat moist treats that taste great, he only likes certain protein sources, and he won’t take a pill so all of his supplements need to come from food and treats. All of these are reasons why we love Zukes. The Hip Action & Joint Support treats come in a variety of proteins so you can be sure you have something to fit any of your pets needs.

The Benefits of Eggshell Membrane (what?!) & Other Important Nutrients

Each treat contains 300 mg of Glucosamine, 50 mg of Chondroitin, and natural eggshell membrane.

So, why eggshell membrane? Well, eggshell membrane has many benefits. Studies suggest that it inhibits production of chemicals in the body that cause joint inflammation and pain, it provides structural support by supplying glycosaminoglycans that help maintain healthy articular cartilage, and it also supports the synovial membrane that lines joints. Eggshell membrane is also rich in collagen and supplementation can facilitate healing of damaged joints, and it’s chock full of antioxidants!

Helping Pets with Pictures

During this campaign, we want to invite you to share photos and videos of your dogs in action and loving life.  For every person who follows @ZukesPets on Instagram or Twitter and tags their photo or video with #FuelTheLove, Zuke’s will donate $5 to The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund up to $10,000!

Zukes always donates a portion of all product sales to the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund (DCCFund), an organization dedicated to understanding, treating and preventing canine and feline cancer. We love companies that give back to their community and help support a good cause. With over 6 million animals, and nearly 1 in 3 dogs diagnosed with cancer each year, we can’t think of a better cause..

Give these treats a try – we think your pets will love them as much as ours love them. In fact, we’re so confident, we’re giving away bags of treats and also participating in their group giveaway. Enter below, then check out our contest page to enter.
