While all pets should be microchipped, ID tags are one of the most important ways to ensure your pets are returned to you in the event of escape. There are many ways to tag your pets, but in our opinion, Blanket ID is one of the classiest.
These beautiful tags are waterproof, nearly indestructible, and since they are much smaller than most tags, they don’t get caught up during rough playtime. After all, the best tag is one that will always stay on your pet!
Each pet is assigned a set of numbers (already individually printed on the back of the tag). By keeping information on the tag minimal, it allows for the tag itself to be much more compact and lightweight, which is especially great for cats and small dogs. Missing Pet
If your pet ever goes missing, you simply log into blanketID, press the “report missing pet” button and a flyer (see below) is generated and sent out to your local SPCA, animal shelters, hospitals, vets’ offices; and other local blanketID members will be immediately notified that your pet is missing. Blanket ID will inform you of whom they have notified, which will enable you to make follow up calls.
If your pet is found, the person simply needs to log onto the website at any time, enter the ID numbers and they will be given immediate access to all of the important pet data, as well as the best way to notify you that they have located your pet.
Fundraising
Under blanketID’s new program, any company or rescue can have their own custom-designed blanketID tag produced at a very reasonable cost. These tags can follow any adopted animal to their new homes. For every blanketID tag registered and every membership purchased, money is donated to the Blanket Fund for Animals. Every penny raised for this fund is used to help animals in need.
