The Nuzzle GPS Tracker Collar for Dogs

Most GPS trackers for pets that we’ve seen are designed to be attached to a collar. However, the Nuzzle GPS tracker is a collar in and of itself, which we can really appreciate. This appears to be a durable way to keep track of your pets and stay stylish in the meantime.

While we have not yet seen the collars ourselves, we wanted to bring them to your attention because ordering it early nets you some pretty slick savings.

Here is a look at the features, the specs and an overview of the Nuzzle GPS tracking collar.

As for the collar itself, it’s a waterproof design that also offers impact detection (such as if your pets are wrestling with one another or if your pet (God forbid) gets hit by a car). It also offers temperature monitoring of your pets, a really neat feature that we haven’t seen on many other collars.

Each package comes with two rechargeable and removable batteries, which means you really don’t have to take your pet’s collar off to charge it. Just slide the extra battery pack in and you’re good to go. (This is one of the features we really loved about the PodTracker: GPS + WiFi Pet Tracker for Cats and Dogs, as well.)

The technology uses “free nationwide GPS cellular coverage” to track your pets. Now, that can often be misleading. Nearly every cell company in the world has “nationwide coverage” and yet we all know how often we’ve had dropped calls or we’re wandering around the mountains seeking “four bars” to get a signal. So, do your homework.

The fact that Nuzzle is technology-based pet insurance company, may give this collar a bit of an edge over others. Only because they understand technology and the importance of real-time updates. The collar allows you to do some geo-fencing (create imaginary boundaries that signal you when your pets leave those areas).

The system is waterproof IPX-8 (meaning it can be submerged in 10′ of water for up to 30 minutes). This is a handy feature to have (but remember that ocean swimming can sometimes cause problems for casings and decrease waterproof ability).

The collars are made from a durable nylon (although it really looks like a plastic or rubber composite in the photos) and there are two sizes (5/8″ width fitting neck diameter between 8″ – 11″ for cats and small dogs, 1″ width with neck diameter of 14″ – 22″ for larger pets) and each will be available in two colors (orange and purple). Both are stylish and your pets will look adorable in either one. The GPS unit weight is approximately 1 oz, so there shouldn’t be any problem with your pets (of any size) carrying it easily.

(Because my fellow Monte Python and the Holy Grail fans know how important weight ratio is to an animal)
