ActiveEdge Technology Helps Pets with Pain

We recently had an interesting new product come in for review and to be honest, I really wasn’t sure how to classify this in the site. It’s sort of a natural product, but it also has a lot of technology behind it. In a way, it has a bit of “new age” in it as well. Ultimately, I am posting it into the technology category, because anything the military is using just seems a natural fit for that category.

The Active Edge Collar is a product designed to improve the quality of your dog’s life. In our case, we tested the collar. This collar is unique in that it’s designed to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation, which ultimately helps your arthritic dog move much easier.

It’s hard to evaluate these types of products because other than measuring your dog’s “get up and go” response, they can’t really tell you if it works. So, I wore it myself. For three days. (I really did…)

The results were pretty impressive. Not only did the “general aches and pains” dissipate (almost the minute I put it on), but I noticed a marked increase in energy.

[note style=”5″ icon=”yes”]Disclaimer: We received a collar from ActiveEdge for evaluation. This has not influenced our opinion and we only discuss products that we feel will be of value to our readers.[/note]

After putting it back on Cheiss (our senior dog who is dealing with quite a few medical issues), we saw a marked improvement in his eating habits, his ability to stand up and move more quickly, his activity levels, and his ability to experience a more restful sleep (he didn’t get up nearly as often). So we eventually moved it between the dogs (Bree is wearing it in the photo below).

The collars are made from authentic military-grade paracord and “infused” (embedded) with a “recipe of electromagnetic frequencies”.

These collars are incredibly durable and will last for a very long time. (And, as an added bonus, you can unwind the collar and have a very long, very useful length of cord that can hold hundreds of pounds!). They are handmade in America and retail for $79.95 and you can choose from several sizes and colors.

The only thing I don’t like about this collar is the latch. They really need to work on that. While it will stay on your pet forever, it’s difficult to put on or take off, and if any type of emergency happens, you’re going to have a hard time releasing your pet due to the strength of the paracord and the latch itself. That issue aside, we love this collar…

Here’s a bit about Active Edge™ technology:

Active Edge™ is the first technology capable of infusing and embedding a recipe of electromagnetic frequencies into fabrics and other materials. It helps activate the sympathetic nervous system, which in turn helps to increase blood flow and oxygen intake, while decreasing inflammation. This all combines to help  the body to perform at a more optimal level. This also helps the body to recover from exercise.

PEMFT stands for pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. PEMF works by pulsing electromagnetic waves through the body to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation. PEMFT has been approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for decades. PEMFT promotes healing of soft tissue injuries, inflammatory joints, fractures, and improves circulation and cellular metabolism.

I hope that eventually, every single dog in the military has access to this collar. But for now, the company is working with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to conduct separate clinical trials that can provide scientific evidence that the devices also reduce inflammation and offer a direct medical benefit. The truth is, the government has been developing these products for troops.

The results of our testing were strong enough that the United States Department of Defense (DOD) has become interested in our technology. They are interested to see if Active Edge™ technology can help the performance and recovery of military personnel.

This technology is only available to the Department of Defense for their ongoing clinical trials and commercially to the public through the Active Edge™ brand.

Over the past four years, Active Edge has run about 25 independent clinical trials involving nearly 2,500 men and women between ages 18 and 82. Tests suggest the product results in a 17 percent average increase in range of motion, a 12 percent average increase in grip strength, an 8 percent average reduction in fatigue with an increase in REM restorative sleep time, and a 23 percent increase in oxygen intake.

Over 2,500 (human) clinical trials have been performed on this technology. The results were remarkable and consistent.  Ninety percent of the test participants showed statistically significant improvement in physiological function had significantly improved in the areas of strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance.  None of the test participants had any negative side effects or showed a decrease in physiological function.

They also utilized thermal imaging to back up the results of these trials (and you can read them all here). This is a picture of a person’s hands before they wore the bracelet:

I know it sounds like a lot to take in, but you’re just going to have to take my word for it. These collars do work. Will it solve all your dog’s problems? No, of course not. But it will help your pup sleep a little sounder, move a little quicker, and if you play your cards right – you can use it on yourself when your dogs aren’t watching.
