Wine (and Dogs) Are Better with Age

Share

Let’s face it – everything in life is better with dogs, and that includes wine. Chateau La Paws has developed three outstanding wines with the intention of helping animals in their quest for greatness. Today, we are bringing you some fun little tasting notes, ideas for pairing these wines, and a look at why this company stands out from others.

The mission of Chateau La Paws is to bring awareness (and good wine) to the masses. Each wine bottle features a rescued dog personally photographed by renowned photographer, Carli Davidson.

In 2015, Chateau La Paws™ & Diageo Chateau & Estates are donating $100,000 to North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization, to help fund the great animal rescue work that they do. Chateau La Paws proudly supports No Kill Organizations around the country.

You can help by purchasing a bottle or two of these wines and while you’re drinking, consider making a check out to an organization you also love and respect.

For those who have rescued pets or are rescue groups, we know you do a lot on your own. So, if it’s not in your budget right now, we are offering you the opportunity to win one of two bottles, complete with a luxurious leather carrying case for those rescue events you attend each weekend, and a few extra toys and gifts for your pets. It’s our way of saying thank you for taking the time to read and rescue. Click here to enter!

This charming Chardonnay is rich with pineapple, green apple, and vanilla notes that are sure to please any palate. It’s the perfect wine for watching the sun set over the ocean as you laze on the beach. The tropical fruit and sweet citrus feels like an ocean breeze, while the vanilla-oak tones keep you warm on cool evenings. Pair this wine with a fine fettuccine or lightly glazed grilled chicken.

Pinot Noir

  • Grape: Pinot Noir
  • Vineyard: California
  • Style: Velvety and Robust California Pinot
  • Pairings: Roasted Meats, Rich Seafood, Pasta

This enchanting Pinot Noir demonstrates the rich, velvety profile and big, bold character of its distinguished pedigree. Dark fruit leaps off the entry, followed by coconut and crème caramel. Expressive varietal character delivers Bing cherry, strawberry and blackberry briar aromas with long, heady accents of vanilla and caramel. French and American oak add layers of vanilla and spice to the expressive fruit. Pair this approachable Pinot Noir with roasted pork loin, duck breast in cherry chutney or a simple BLT.

A medium-bodied mixed-breed of Zinfandel, Merlot and Syrah lends dark cherry and raspberry notes to this brilliant blend. Celebrates the “mutt” in your life with a wine that is perfect after a hard day of playing fetch or sniffing out trouble.

Blueberry, raspberry and black forest cake aromas open the nose, followed by dark berries and sage on the palate. Soft and velvety in texture, the wine has a fruit-driven profile that pairs well with a variety of foods, including barbecued and smoked meats, pulled pork, venison or heaping plate of duck fat fries. The Red Blend combines layers of dark fruits and spices for a complex, multi-dimensional wine with affable character.

Now, if your home is anything like mine, this is a typical evening:

But even a tennis ball can’t destroy a fine wine. It’s one of those magical things about pets and wine – both get better with age.

“Sit back and enjoy a glass,” said Winemaker Marty Spate. “It’s a tribute to the simple joys in life – good dogs and great wines.”
