One thing I’ve learned in life is that the only creature more particular than my husband about the food they eat, is my dog. Cheiss is one of the pickiest eaters in the world. He won’t eat anything that he hasn’t preapproved and if I even attempt to sneak a supplement into his diet, he refuses to eat for days. As he’s already a lean dog that exercises regularly and plays fetch for 30 minutes a night, it’s important that he eats a high quality food. This is easier said than done, because as we have all experienced – many foods that are good for you just don’t taste as good as “junk food.”
So getting him to take supplements and eat high quality foods has always been a challenge. That is, until Salmon Paws Wowsers showed up on our doorstep. Even Cheiss was surprised at this product!
These tiny “salmon pebbles” as my better half affectionately refers to them, not only taste great, they are good for your pet as well. Designed as a “meal topper,” they are perfect for even the most finicky canine.
Salmon Paws Wowsers flew through the pre-approval process! It only took a few sprinkles on Cheiss’ pet food to get him to first sniff curiously, then wolf down the entire bowl in search of the salmon bits.
Shocked doesn’t begin to cover my surprise. This dog has never “wolfed down” anything in his life (and that includes steak, chicken, rice and many other wonderful foods). Yet, sprinkle a handful of Salmon Paws over the top of crunchy, boring pet food and he can’t wait to eat!
It’s not just a great way to get your critical canine to eat healthy food. Salmon is chock full of health benefits in itself. It’s a fantastic source of amino acids, which aids in digestion. It is chock full of Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of triglycerides, vitamins B, D and A. It also naturally contains important minerals, including Selenium, Zinc, Phosphorus, Calcium and Iron. The oil helps keep your pet’s coat in show condition and strengthens teeth and nails. Salmon oil is even recommended as a supplement to keep your pet’s heart healthy. It boosts immunity, wards off arthritis and helps ease the stiff joints of our older canine companions.
Yet, most commercial pet foods lack any type of fish oil. This is just one more reason it’s important to supplement your pets diet. The Salmon Paws Wowsers daily meal topping offers extra nutrition that your pet needs.
And it’s not just for dogs. Did I mention how much our cats love it as well? While they do offer a kitty treat for cats, we haven’t yet tried it, but we are fairly confident it will be just as excellent as the meal topper for dogs!
The ingredients are simple and consist only of salmon, sweet potato, broccoli and carrots. Salmon Paws is a family-owned and operated business that manufactures everything in the U.S. All ingredients are locally grown and each meet or exceed USDA standards.
