Memorial Weekend 2010 marks the grand opening of a museum-within-a-museum, featuring antique and vintage fire department equipment from around the Pikes Peak region. Its hallmark is an antique hose cart, the oldest piece of fire apparatus registered with the Colorado State Firefighters Association, owned by the MSVFD since 1880. Fascinating authentic memorabilia and photographs of a bygone era surround it. Admission to the Fire Department Museum is included in admission to the Castle.
Self-guided tours are available during regular hours. Guided tours for groups of 15 or more are available by advance reservation.
Year round, High Tea and Light Victorian Tea feature delicious homemade scones served with Devonshire cream, infused butters, and preserves, an assortment of vegetables, a fruit flute, a variety of Victorian-style sandwiches, and a sampling of several lovely desserts, as well as accompaniments.
Their gift shop features unique Victorian-style porcelain, dolls, hard-to-find vintage-style candies, artwork and cards, books about the Castle, Teas, and local history, as well as an entire Christmas Room filled with unusual ornaments.
