Meet TreT: Doggie Parkour Extremist

Parkour is a noncompetitive sport that is also known as “free-walking,” despite not dealing much with walking at all. Each day, hundreds of videos are posted on YouTube about extreme parkour – profiling activities that include jumping rooftops, climbing walls, leaping between buildings and just about any type of extreme walking and running you can think of. But, Parkour is not just for people. Doggie Parkour is now an activity for dog enthusiasts to consider when walking their dogs each day.

And no dog shows it off better than TreT. This American Staffordshire dog from the Ukraine happens to be a doggy parkour extraordinaire. He’s one of only a few dogs in the world who have taken up his owner’s love of free-walking, and easily one of the most talented dogs we’ve ever seen. Watch this video for a close up look at his skills and how it compares to the skills of his two-legged fans…

In the video, you’ll see TreT climbing walls, buildings and trees, leaping over rooftops. We’ll be talking more about TreT soon – the minute we hear back from his owner on how he came to have and train this amazing animal!

Parkour is a non-competitive sport that is credited to being developed by Frenchman David Belle. The main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing, and leaping. TreT and his owner have helped take the sport to exciting new levels.
