More FURminator “Must-Have” Tools: Curry Comb and Slicker Brush

If you’ve been hanging around the PetsWeekly site for a while, you may have noticed that we appear to be in love with FURminator products. (And if you haven’t been around very long, see our list of FURminator product reviews at the bottom of this article.) That’s because we are. It’s hard not to fall head over heels when we have yet to meet a FURminator product we haven’t liked. In this review, we’ll be covering two of their grooming tools, as well as telling you about a nifty feature on the FURminator website that will help you figure out just what products you should buy for your pet.

FURminator Curry Brush:

It can be difficult to find just the right comb or brush for pets with short coats since many of them seem to do little more than glide over the surface of the animal’s coat. The FURminator Curry Brush not only gets down into short and medium coats, but the rubber teeth stimulate natural oil production in your pet’s skin, which plays a role in the overall health of their coat. We really like the way the Curry Comb removes dust, dander, and loose dirt, making it that much easier to keep pets clean and fresh-smelling between baths. Anyone who has spent time and money trying to find a brush for their short-coated friend knows that the price tag on the Curry Comb, $15.99, is a great deal.

FURminator Slicker Brush:

This is no ordinary slicker brush! The Soft FURminator Dog Slicker Brush, intended for use on larger dogs, is ideal for brushing out long, wiry coats, and for tackling all of the mats and tangles that tend to accumulate in that otherwise beautiful fur. Its large paddle head is made up of two separate, flexible halves that allow the brush to work with the angles and contours of your dog’s body, which means less brushing. That’s time saved for you, and less stress on your dog and their coat. The price for the FURminator Large Soft Slicker Brush may seem a bit high to some, but $22.99 for a brush that works so well and is unlike any other brush out there, is an excellent investment in our book.

FURminator Grooming Solutions:

Now it’s time for what I think is the most exciting part of this review—telling you about FURminator’s “Grooming Solutions” tool. There are many grooming products out there, and it can be very confusing—and expensive—trying to find just the right tools to use on your pet’s fur. FURminator wanted to make life a little bit easier for pet owners by creating a tool in which customers enter details about their pets and see what products would be best for them. Just click on the “Tell Us About Your Pet” button on the FURminator Grooming Solutions page (see the image below), select the information that applies to your pet, and you’re good to go!
