Petco Introduces Home Delivery

Share

Don’t want to run out for a can of cat food? Petco will soon be delivering it to your door. Using technology from Instacart, a web-based same-day delivery platform based in Los Angeles, Petco will reportedly have the ability to deliver pet care items to your home within an hour of placing your order. The service is called PetcoNow and it’s already available in select locations.

While you’re online ordering food for your pets, you can order from groceries from your favorite grocery store at the same time, in the same portal. InstaCart is already partnered with 50 grocery retailers, including popular national chains like Whole Foods Market and Costco; as well as local, artisan grocers (Fairway Market, Bi-Rite).

Petco will soon be in your neighborhood with home delivery services for nearly any location.

Instacart says that Petco is their first non-grocery retail partner. It will provide over 13,000 petco products ranging from treats and toys to food.

“In January, we introduced Petco as Instacart’s first non-grocery retail partner, and we have continued to see growth,” said Apoorva Mehta, founder and CEO of Instacart. “Through our partnership, Petco is able to offer customers the ease and convenience of on-demand delivery without the need to handle the logistics themselves. We’re excited to expand this offering to pet owners and will be introducing additional markets later this year.”
