Kitten Rescued from Drainpipe

Share

Diners at Martha’s Kitchen in Moreno Valley, California, were distraught to hear what they believed to be a kitten crying from a drainpipe in front of the restaurant. Restaurant staff immediately called animal services. Unfortunately, Animal services didn’t have the tools to help this poor kitty, so they reached out to AAP Home Services, who immediately dispatched three of their top professionals.

In a situation like this, time is of the essence and AAP Home Services cares about animals and doing the job right the first time. To find the kitten, the plumping professionals used a state-of-the-art sewer camera system and electronic line tracing device in order to locate the kitten about 55 feet from the building. She was located under a concrete walkway in a narrow section of pipe.

The team noted the location, consulted maps of the sewer system and then chose a spot far enough away from the kitten to keep her from harm. They began by using jackhammers about 20 feet away from the kitten’s location to begin removing the concrete. They then accessed an opening to the pipe.

The caring plumbing professionals then had to find a way to get the kitten over to the opening they had created. To do so they lured her out by tapping on the drain line. This was just the right thing to do and the kitten came right out to waiting Moreno Valley Animal Control Technician, Ashleigh Renz.

Stephen, William, and Daniel, the skilled professionals from AAP Home Services did a fantastic job coordinating with both Animal Control, and emergency services to rescue the adorable grey kitten, who has been named Martha in honor of the restaurant. She was rescued without a scratch.

The kitten may have already been adopted from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, but there are plenty of furry new friends waiting to find a new home if she has.
