The days are getting shorter and the nights a bit longer, which makes finding our pets who need to come indoors at night a bit harder to find. Even in a yard, they can be difficult to track down if they don’t run up to you. That’s why we like the new LED collars from 4PawsTech.

Highlights:

  • Variety of Colors
  • LED-light is bright
  • USB Rechargeable lithium ion battery
  • 3 Modes: Fast Flash, Slow Flash, Constant On
  • Great for walking or in yard
  • MSRP $29.99

Way too many dogs are killed by cars at night because they escape from a yard and are nearly invisible in the dark. The 4PawsTech collar ensures you can see them during the day or on the darkest night.

Most GPS trackers for pets that we've seen are designed to be attached to a collar. However, the Nuzzle GPS tracker is a collar in and of itself, which we can really appreciate. This appears to be a durable way to keep track of your pets and stay stylish in the meantime.

While we have not yet seen the collars ourselves, we wanted to bring them to your attention because ordering it early nets you some pretty slick savings.

Here is a look at the features, the specs and an overview of the Nuzzle GPS tracking collar.

PodTracker UnitOne of the products most impressive GPS collars for dogs and cats that we have been most impressed with is the PodTracker. Introduced in 2015 as "the world's smallest and lightest GPS + WiFi tracker, it has been touted as one of the more successful trackers for pets.

Founder Sebastian (Seb) Langton arrived all the way from Australia to introduce the PodTracker to a very receptive audience at Global Pet Expo in Orlando, FL.

Langston's mission to create the ultimate GPS tracker began after the loss of Rango, his beloved cat. "There are cats and then there are cats," Langston said. "Rango was one of those very special cats."

TrackR Uses Crowd GPS To Locate Your Pets

It's tough finding a GPS collar or tag that is small enough for your cat or tiny dog to wear, but the TrackR tag meets that requirement. This tiny device attaches to your pets collar and uses "Crowd Tracking" (more about this below) to locate your lost pet (or luggage or car or anything else).

The tracking is not as detailed as the standard tracker, but it's new technology. Rather than pinpoint the item, it tells you when you're near it by using "hot" or "cold" cues (which we all remember from our childhood games).

A 2-way separation alert (when you pet gets too far from your phone) alerts you so you never have to worry about leaving a pet behind.

Whistle is Wearable Tech for Dogs

We recently had the opportunity to spend a month with the Whistle Activity Tracking Monitor and we must say, it’s very impressive. The Whistle Activity Monitor is a sleek, lightweight on-collar device that enables you to see what your dog is doing at any given time. It’s the latest in “wearable tech” for dogs. It’s very accurate and quite helpful in making your pets life a better experience. While we received a free product for review, this has not influenced our review or opinion. All opinions stated are my own.

We tried it out on Cheiss. He’s our 13-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who has been dealing with some health problems lately. Arthritis is kicking in for our old boy, and his eyesight is failing. But, we’re determined to get him through everything we can while maintaining his quality of life. This is a great tool to help us measure that important metric through activity levels and feeding habits.

This tool allows us to monitor his good days and bad days, and best of all, it allows us to send all of his information directly to his veterinarian. That way, the vet can see at a glance what his eating habits are like, how he is doing on his new medication, and how that medication is impacting his overall health. Needless to say, our vet was also quite impressed with this program and plans to recommend it to his other patients!
