  • Earth Heart Canine Calm Wipes Calm Dogs Naturally

We’re very excited to tell you about a new way to calm your pets naturally and effectively with Canine Calm Aromatherapy Wipes, from Earth Heart, Inc. Vicki Thorne, aromatherapist, herbalist, owner at Earth Heart Inc, has created these revolutionary, easy-to-carry calming wipes for pets on the go.

Canine Calm Aromatherapy Wipes are designed to calm pets during storms, fireworks, boarding, grooming, clinic visits, and other unsettling times. While aromatherapy is commonly used in sprays and diffusers, the development of therapeutic aromatherapy in convenient, travel-friendly wipes creates a new product category for the industry.

Canine Calm wipes are made with the highest quality, pure essential oils to create a serene experience for your dog, and best of all - they come in a resealable package for easy carrying anywhere. Each wipe contains 100% pure essential oils from a proprietary blend that includes bergamot, tangerine peel, lavender flowering tops, rose geranium flower, sweet marjoram leaf, and ylang ylang flower.

  • WrapSit Slipcover Makes A Handy Portable Outdoor Kennel

Whether you’re camping in the woods or heading to your next agility competition, sometimes you just need a few “hands free” moments that don’t involve placing your pet in a car. We’ve got good news - you can keep your pets safe while you handle things hands-free; just secure your dogs under the chair!

The new Wrapsit™ slipcover crate gives your pets about five cubic feet of space right at your feet. The genius behind this is the way it just attaches to the underside of any existing camp chair.

The Wrapsit™ slides over the legs of your exisiting folding camp chair. You never have to remove the cover because it also makes great storage for your “everyday” items when you’re out. The next time you’re at an event or watching your kids soccer game, you can just place your belongings inside the chair and bam - you’ve got an automatic safe place to store your purse, sports equipment, or even your dog!

  • The OnlyLeash - a Lightweight, Quick-Grab Leash Solution

The OnlyLeash is one of the most interesting (and useful) collars we’ve received this year. If you have a large dog who you occasionally need to get quick control over and you don’t have time to grab a leash, this is the #OnlyLeash (see what I did there?) that you need to know about.

The Only Leash™ is a looped bungee leash that can connect to any collar or harness. When you need quick control, just quickly slip the lead over your pet's head for about a one-foot lead. It lets you control your dog without choking them or hurting yourself in the process.

When I talk about the need to gain quick control, I’m talking about the big Labrador who rushes the FedEx driver at the door, the mastiff who loves to escort you out to the mailbox, or the pit bull who hates that garbage truck rolling by. It’s a stop-gap for gaining quick control and it’s perfect for large dogs.

This is a tool you want when you can’t hunt down a leash every six seconds, because if you spent the time looking for a leash, the moment of control will have passed you by.

  • Applications Being Accepted for AZ Desert Tortoise Adoptions

Each year, Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) offers residents a chance to adopt a desert tortoise. This year, nearly 100 desert tortoises will awaken to prepare for summer and AZGFD wants to make sure they get into good homes.

This is a unique and relatively rare opportunity to bring an amazing pet into your home (or yard).

There is no charge to adopt these animals, but adopters must have a securely enclosed yard or a separate enclosure that is free from others pets, unfenced pools and other hazards. You must be a permanent resident of Arizona to qualify because these are tortoises that have to stay in our unique environment.

These tortoises are only available for adoption to residents living within the species’ native range (which includes the Phoenix, Bullhead City, Kingman, Prescott, Lake Havasu, Tucson and Yuma areas).  Each will receive health checks before going to their homes.

This year, there is a wide range of ages and sizes available for adoption. Here's the scoop...

If you don’t think that your pets would benefit from a little aromatherapy – think again. As we’ve discussed before, pets get stressed too and will receive a psychological and physical boost from aromatherapy, just like you and me.

We were recently approached by Gerrard Larriett Aromatherapy Pet Care to put their products to the PetsWeekly test, and we all came away relaxed, refreshed, and smelling great. Now that we’ve managed to pull ourselves away from our at-home spa time, let us take some time to introduce you to this top-notch aromatherapy line.

Gerrard Larriett has done an excellent job in creating aromatherapy products that are not only pleasant and soothing to the senses, but to pets’ sensitive skin as well. It’s no simple task to create a grooming product that smells good and benefits the physical health of pets – but they’ve done it, and with a healthy dose of class. Now you can keep your pet, and your home, smelling and feeling like every day is spa day. If this sounds good to you, follow these PetsWeekly Home Spa steps:

  1. Starting at the very root of pet odors, bathe your pet with the silky shampoo and conditioner to rid their coat of any off smells. Don’t worry, this shampoo won’t dry out their skin or yours. Aloe vera and oats will ensure you both leave the “spa” with soft, soothed skin. (Don’t forget your spa robes!)
  2. Keep your pet smelling fresh and keep that coat shiny in between baths with a spritz or two of freshening and shining spray. The lanolin in each bottle will rehydrate the coat, and the light scent will make it a pleasure for everyone to hang out on the couch together.
  3. Light one of the soy, hand-poured candles to keep your house pet-scent free, or even during bath time for added aromatic benefit.

All Gerrard Larriett shampoo and conditioners, soy candles and sprays come in three fragrances:

  • Happy Jasmine to raise your pet’s spirits (and yours).
  • Balancing Rose to center the body and mind.
  • Relaxing Wildwoods to calm and distress.

We would certainly recommend any of the Gerrard Larriett products, but we suggest ordering one of their Gift Sets, as buying the set will save you $6 off the individual purchase prices. Each gift set comes in a chic, black and white tote and includes:

  • 8 ounce shampoo and conditioner
  • 8.5 ounce hand-poured deodorizing candle
  • 4 ounce freshening and shining spray

Treat yourself and your pet to a little bit of the luxurious side of life with Gerrard Larriett Aromatherapy Pet Care. If you decide to pamper yourself alone once in a while – we won’t tell!
