PawSense: Prevent Cyber Pet Attacks PDF Print E-mail

When a writers group that I belong too first brought the computer program PawSense to my attention, I have to say - I thought it was a joke.  I just assumed it was one of those elaborate websites put together by some I.T. guy who had way too much time on his hands and happened to have a cat, and was thinking of a really funny product that other I.T. guys could get some use out of, but that no one had ever really invented yet.  But what really surprised me was when I clicked on the link to order, and it put me through to a credit card page.

Then I started thinking; “Well, someone has really put some time in on this, and maybe I should report it as a hoax”.  But before I did something that extreme, I decided to exercise my journalistic responsibility and do some more research by contacting the company.  Imagine my surprise when the owner of the company actually responded!  Exploration of the company seemed eminent at that point, and I saw no option but to give PawSense a fair shot, thereby opting to evaluate their product.

Big Cat Feline Furniture PDF Print E-mail

UPDATE: Watch the video on assembling this unit at the end of this article!

Right now, I’m watching my cog (that’s short for a cat who thinks she’s a dog), hang off the top level of our brand new, cutting edge, state-of-the-art, BigCat activity center. She’s doing this for a reason, and it’s to torture our very easy-going Tonkinese, Ghost, into abandoning his spot on the hammock of the second level.  Mama-san, who has the most coveted place deep inside the cat condo, will be next on the cog’s list.  Ultimately, a fight will break out between the three of them, and two more of our cats will move in for the prime position, prompting me to return to my computer and purchase several more furniture pieces from Feline Furniture in order to create a larger activity center.

And this is how it’s been since we incorporated the innovative new Big Cat Activity Center into our home – nonstop fun…

Technology Made for Cats PDF Print E-mail

Wonder what your cat is doing while you’re at work all day? Sony Computer Science Laboratories has partnered with researchers at The University of Tokyo to develop Cat@Log, a gadget that combines GPS, a digital camera, Wi-Fi and an acceleration sensor to enable Twitter updates on what your cat is doing. The GPS tracks location, and the acceleration sensor interprets what the cat is doing -- such as walking, sleeping or eating. A camera then snaps pics from a collar-eye view. Every now and then, all this data is sent wirelessly to a home computer that posts a Twitter status update (e.g., “this tastes good” while your cat is eating), complete with tweet pics.

Technology for You and Your Cat
For now, Cat@Log represents the latest cat-gadget trend. The high-tech trend has increasingly crept into the pet product industry, according to Bob Vetere, president of the American Pet Products Association.

The Essential Two in One Pet Stroller PDF Print E-mail

Before you decide you don’t have a need for a Pet Stroller , I’m hoping you’ll take a moment to read this review.  I didn’t think I had a need for one either, but it has become far more than a “cute” product for mini-dogs and normal-sized cats.

I wasn’t completely convinced that I needed a pet stroller, but I thought that I would give this one a try.  Turns out – I was wrong – I was in need of a pet stroller… It just needed to be a certain BRAND of pet stroller.  Why? Because it’s more than a stroller.  It’s a fashionable, airline-approved pet carrier as well.  It’s also a fun conversation-starter and something that the kids can use to bond with our outings during travels.
