Let’s face it - everything in life is better with dogs, and that includes wine. Chateau La Paws has developed three outstanding wines with the intention of helping animals in their quest for greatness. Today, we are bringing you some fun little tasting notes, ideas for pairing these wines, and a look at why this company stands out from others.

The mission of Chateau La Paws is to bring awareness (and good wine) to the masses. Each wine bottle features a rescued dog personally photographed by renowned photographer, Carli Davidson.

A Look at LICKS Pill-Free Supplements

There are thousands of supplements on the market that are available for your dogs and cats (and horses and reptiles and critters and birds). But, today I want to focus on a supplement that each of our pets use every day. LICKS Pill-Free Formulas is a group that I wrote about years ago - they were in our Top 10 Most Impressive Products list from Global Pet Expo in 2013. At the time, they only had three formulas: JOINT+HEART, ATHLETE, and ZEN. So, we took a few samples home with us to try out. We were so impressed, we have been using them every day, ever since... Here’s why:

  • 98% absorbency rate (compared to only 10-30% for pills/powders)
  • Made and sourced in the USA
  • Effects are noticeable within a few minutes and last a few hours (great for calming pets!)
  • You can administer in many ways: Direct (from the package), On the paw (great for cats) and In Water
  • Individually packaged, which makes them easily transportable while traveling to shows or event

Not only are they easy to use, they work. They work (almost) immediately and they work amazingly well.

The ClickIt Utility Harness: Crash-tested for pets

There was a time in my life when I just loaded my dogs in the back of my SUV (and worse, the back of my pickup truck). Like many people, I didn’t know back then the danger my actions put my pets in until I was in an accident and I had 200+ lbs of dog propelled towards the front of the vehicle. Luckily, no one was injured, but it was a big wake up call for me... Its happening less frequently, but it still occurs: people placing their small dogs on their lap while they drive (pardon the graphic image, but that action essentially turns your dog into an airbag), letting their pets crowd to the front of the car in an effort to reach the front seat (creating a HUGE distraction for drivers) and allowing their pets to wander in the back of pickups and SUVs (which can propel them forward towards you and the window at outrageous speeds if you have to stop quickly). Over the years, we’ve all become more aware of the importance of keeping our pets safe while traveling. But, we’re all still on a learning curve when it comes to selecting the safest harnesses, crates and other travel gear. Fortunately, we have some companies taking the lead on crash testing and safety while on the road. At no time is that more important than during the holidays. SleepyPod is one of those companies...

Photographer Central Changes the Way You Take Photos

The holidays are upon us and that means many will be seeking out reputable photographers to take family photos with pets. Photographer Central is changing the way that you do this by simplifying the search process, while providing specially designed search results and individual profiles to help you find the perfect photographer for your family.

We recently gave it a try and were able to locate a photographer in our area who specializes in action shots of people and their pets, in a price range we could afford. We also wanted a photographer to have enough experience to accommodate us for an “official” family photo, so we filtered our search to include photographers who work in a studio environment, but also know the intricacies of photographing pets (and have the patience to do so). Finally, we narrowed the results to find the right photographer to create the perfect head-shot for the back cover of my next novel (very much needed since mine are now 20+ years old!).
