Today I took my dog for a walk. Now, this is not always a pleasant experience largely because I’m a fairly ineffective trainer and I’ve not taken the time to teach Cheiss, my Australian Shepherd, to heal. However, today I used the Halti Headcollar and within seconds, I had the best-trained dog in the world. He stopped when I stopped. He healed like a police dog. He didn’t pull me all over the neighborhood. And I have to tell you, it was bliss. For those of you who don’t know, the Halti is a tool that works on the same premise as a halter would for a horse. Think about it. If you can control a 1,000 pound animal with a rope and a halter, you can most definitely control a 50 pound dog using a similar tool.

I’ll warn you ahead of time – it will take some time for your dog to get used to wearing it. He will fall to the ground, flopping around like a fish, clawing at the headset to get it off. This will last only a few minutes and I say, let him do it. After a few minutes of this, they will settle into the routine and get right back to sniffing things as they walk quietly alongside of you. In Cheiss’ case, he did the “fish roll” as I like to call it, off and on for about five minutes. The next hour was an easy walk in which he was focused yet still had a great time.

As the handler, you will need to make some adjustments to the way you walk your pet when using a Halti. You’ll need to get used to gentle corrections – a little goes a long way with the Halti, so you should never “yank” on the leash, or pull their heads around. Other than that, it works the exact same way as a regular walk, only your dogs won’t be pulling you around, making you look ridiculous. This product makes walking your dog fun again. Remember when your little Scottish terrier pulled you along a sidewalk? Or your big Mastiff decided you should be on the other side of the street? Or people were afraid to walk up to you because your dog was so obviously out of control? You will not experience that with the Halti. Neighbors will watch you walk by in awe and want to know how you became the “dog whisperer” overnight. Do yourself a favor and tell them it’s due to the Halti Headcollar . Could you imagine what the neighborhood would be like if everyone had their pets under control? Bliss. Pure bliss. No matter what size dog you have, I strongly recommend you explore this product. Give it a chance to make your life easier. If you’re not a great trainer, don’t worry – this product will let you become the most amazing trainer ever. Walks are just so much more fun (and safe) when your pet is under control!
