The Behavior Express Tour 2012

Share

If you have a pet, he or she probably has a behavior that makes you a little crazy. Or worse, a problem that makes them crazy, resulting in a behavior issue. If you haven’t been able to afford a therapist for your four-legged friend, we have a solution that is free.

The goal of the Keep the L.O.V.E. Alive Behavior Express Tour 2012 is to raise awareness about, and help reduce, the number of pets that are being abandoned, relinquished or even euthanized due solely to behavior problems.

The American College of Veterinary Behaviorists is co-sponsoring the tour with Ceva Animal Health (the makers of Feliway and Adaptil, D.A.P (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) to bring you the ultimate in behavioral assistance for your pets. The bus will travel 12,500 miles and stop in six cities for a free pet fair. Read on to learn when the bus will be in your city…

“Thousands of pets die needlessly each year because of untreated behavior problems. ACVB and Ceva want pet owners to know there are medically sound options available from their local veterinarians to modify and treat these pets before it’s too late. This campaign will go a long way to addressing these alarming statistics and keep the love alive between pets and their families,” said Debra Horwitz, DVM, DACVB, spokesperson for the tour.

Each pet fair will feature board-certified veterinary behaviorists available to answer pet owner questions, educational booths staffed by local veterinarians, shelter booths with adoptable pets, and free giveaways from Ceva. Donations to area shelters participating in the fair will be made from the proceeds of event T-shirt sales and $1 “Paw for the Cause” donations.

“This tour can truly save the lives of pets. We want pet owners to know that products like Ceva Animal Health’s Feliway and Adaptil behavior products can help, and encourage them to speak with their veterinarian about a complete behavior treatment plan,” said Elizabeth Hodgkins, DVM, Esq., Ceva Animal Health Director, Veterinary Services.
